Christopher Cherney is a Berlin-based writer-director and founder of Zembla, a creative studio focused on storytelling in film. His fiction and essays have appeared in Queen’s Quarterly, Spree Lit, and Rising Phoenix, and he is the translator of Painters of Air, an upcoming book by philosopher Raquel Ferrández. His film practice blends documentary and artistic approaches, often collaborating with dancers and community groups to explore how stories live in the body. Recent work includes Threading the Needle, a micro-documentary series on Berlin artists, and postproduction for PBS’ Afro-Latino Travels with Kim Haas.
